Last Day of Mid-Winter Break

Today is the last day of the kid's three day Mid-Winter Break!  I am somewhat sad, but also glad to get back to the regular routine.  All break I've been asking myself "what day is today?" We did some fun things: Detroit Institute of Arts, Blue and Gold Banquet Sunday, a sleepover, a trip to the Robot Garage to build Lego, and visiting the newest Laginess this morning.

I had big plans for home organization and cleaning over this break, but those plans were slightly derailed by other things...like having fun with my kids!  Overall a great break, but I'm ready to get back to the schedule!

180 DAYS!

Our family vacation this year isn't until the beginning of August, but I'm already starting to get excited! Our destination is Florida, Orlando first and then who knows for the last few days :-) We are planning on Magic Kingdom and Epcot, Islands of Adventure for Harry Potter, and LegoLand! I really don't want to over schedule this trip. We are planning some down time days for shopping Downtown Disney, just hanging out at the pool, and driving to the ocean.

We went to Florida a couple of years ago for the first time with the kids and stayed on the Disney property.  I thought this was a good plan for our first time there, we flew last time so there were no worries about driving in an unfamiliar area or worrying about parking.  We did only go to Disney Parks though, and this time we want to try a few new things out.

This trip we are driving and planning on visiting some friends in Alabama on the the way! I'm excited to have the freedom to stop somewhere off the itinerary if the mood strikes. Looking online at all the websites for Theme Parks and our Resort has put me in a great mood...even though I just came in from shoveling snow LOL!

Taste Test

Last night we had a taste test to determine if Ben and Zach could tell the difference between Cheese Goldfish and Whole Grain Cheese Goldfish. I had just been to the grocery store and stocked up on several varieties of the snack crackers.  The kids were excited to see me taking out all the packages...until they saw the Whole Grain one.  "Aww Mom!" They exclaimed! "We don't like the Whole Grain ones!!".  So we blindfolded them both and I served three samples.  Whole Grain Cheddar, Baby Cheddar and Multi-Color Cheddar.  Guess what? They couldn't tell the difference.  We liked the idea of the Taste Test so much, I think you may see more posting about it for Pop, Hot Dogs and Peanut Butter.  'Till next time :-)
